Chapter 1299: Seeing the Angel of Fear Again (Part 2)

Chapter 1299: Seeing the Angel of Fear Again (Part 2)

Summoning a puppet was the most common method for combat, but Inbosa’s puppet was different. Numerous parts had been added onto an average-sized puppet, turning a construction puppet into a combative puppet. Although it could not move, the transformation was interesting and practical.

After Inbosa finished arranging his puppet, the magic drill had pierced through the ground, revealing a magic array. The magic drill struck the magic array hundreds of times. It was only after the magic substances within the drill had been consumed completely that it stopped.

A small hole appeared in the magic array. However, it was immediately filled by the magic array’s regenerating ability.

Inbosa shook his head. There was no other way, they could only use the metallic poison again.

Extracting the poison was not easy. Purifying it further was more arduous. It was only because Inbosa was preparing to refine a gigantic piece of equipment that he had prepared so much.

He poured another bottle of metallic poison into the cave, corroding holes into the magic array within the mezzanine. Inbosa once again spread open a scroll, dissolving the top of the mezzanine and penetrating it.

Inbosa did it gracefully, as if he had practiced. Saleen called upon the star figures and followed downwards. Like before, Grand Duke Iron Blood rode on the rainbow dragon and stood guard outside.

He wanted to be allocated a portion of the benefits from attacking the city. Inbosa went down to retrieve the goods, but he would still not be able to obtain all of them. Inbosa’s agreement to intercept external attacks, and his wish to divide up half of the benefits from Saleen was not unreasonable.

Unless they encountered goods that could move, such as the puppet army, Saleen only needed to go down to clear out some of the goods. The battles outside would be handled by Grand Duke Iron Blood’s people.

As he ran down the cave, Inbosa dissolved one layer of the mezzanine’s roof. Inbosa already had no mood to look at the materials. There was nothing aside from some high level materials.

Saleen did not pass them up. He let out the lightning puppets and plundered wantonly.

Inbosa treated it as if he had not seen anything. When Saleen had finished, he had penetrated the bottom floor of the warehouse. For the second time, Saleen gave him four Dissolution Spell scrolls, but he had saved one.

Inbosa was able to craft a level 11 scroll, but he had never learnt the Dissolution spell. The skill had many uses in alchemy. He had used up seven Dissolution Spell scrolls and learned something. After returning and learning the mantra, he had to become familiar with the frequency of elemental vibrations.

He would leave that scroll for research. Inbosa did not want to buy it from Saleen. Saleen was meticulous. This time he had saved one. He estimated that it had been within Saleen’s calculations.

However, Saleen did not pay any notice to Inbosa’s plans. It was only a level 11 scroll. Saleen’s most abundant resources were scrolls.

The warehouse below was less than half the size of the other warehouses. It was only a few hundred meters long. Once Saleen arrived, he saw that Inbosa was using his spatial equipment to collect the items that had been placed on the ground.

Saleen chuckled. “Inbosa, do you want to hog everything for yourself?”

“Hog it all, my ass. This is a sealed warehouse and it cannot be exposed to air. Move, quick!” Inbosa completely lost his poise and was frenziedly collecting all the items on the floor that looked like metal fragments.

Only then did Saleen notice that the gases within this warehouse could not be breathed in by humans. If a human inhaled it, they would die in about ten seconds. The gas did not have a corrosive effect, so it was the best method for mages to protect goods that were susceptible to rot.

Saleen immediately retrieved dimension stones and summoned all four star figures, allowing the star figures to help him to collect the fragments on the ground. Saleen was finally able to identify the fragments. They were the eggshell of a certain type of creature. However, it had a hard texture and was hundreds of times tougher than iron. It seemed that the creature was very afraid of being exposed to the air. Once it was exposed, it would disintegrate into other materials and its value would be reduced.

The air pressure in the warehouse was slightly high. It was flowing outside through the big hole that Inbosa had dissolved. Puppets were unable to use spatial equipment, so Saleen’s helpers only consisted of four star figures. Even so, his collection of the eggshells was much faster than Inbosa’s.

Alchemy City had all kinds of materials. Items that had been stored in warehouses with two floors using special means had to be things that even Alchemy City felt were precious. Saleen did not try to recall the Illustrated Handbook of Magic Beasts. He knew that the things in the handbook would definitely not be so meticulously preserved by Alchemy City.

He knew that from seeing the high level magic nuclei. Alchemy City had piled them without any care.

The number of eggshells that had accumulated was great. Inbosa’s subordinates were at the forefront, but Saleen’s Elemental Eye was able to clearly distinguish which of the eggshells contained more power. The star figures collected the eggshells that were the thickest and of the highest level and placed them in the dimension stones.

To Inbosa, that was not important. The warehouse did not have the item that he wanted.

The warehouse suddenly tremored. Saleen did not call out to Inbosa. With a flash of his silhouette, he arrived at the first floor of the warehouse. He used the Starline Ring to contain all of the materials collected by the lightning puppets and then rushed up to the surface.

On the surface, Grand Duke Iron Blood was exchanging blows with a level 10 True Might. If it was just a level 10 True Might, Grand Duke Iron Blood would be able to borrow the power of the giant dragon to force them back with one strike of his spear, and it would not have caused such a large tremor. The True Might was riding something that looked like a huge gorilla.

“Is it done or not!” Grand Duke Iron Blood saw that Saleen had appeared.

“Seems like it’s not.” Saleen furrowed his brows. Inbosa’s expression let him know that this attack on Alchemy City had not allowed Inbosa to gain possession of the most important thing.

“We can’t search for it anymore. We won’t make it in time,” Grand Duke Iron Blood said. His army’s losses were close to 9,000. He was not clear on the number of losses of Saleen’s army. He estimated that it was at least a few thousand.

His estimate was not bad, but Saleen had lost about 1,000 Bug Angel Warriors, all from the attack of the giant statue. After the giant statues had appeared, Saleen’s Bug Angel Warriors had rushed at them, discovered that they were not their match, and under Saleen’s direction they had turned back, leaving a few hundred behind to settle matters.

The giant statues seemed to be Alchemy City’s strong offensive power. The two statues did not even require the directions of humans. They would automatically attack Alchemy City’s foes. Perhaps even the Metal Titan would not be their match.

It seemed that Alchemy City was not as full of holes as it appeared to be. Saleen wanted to leave, but Inbosa, who had appeared behind him, gave another suggestion.

“Duke, Your Majesty, in the third warehouse, there will definitely be the items that I wish to find. I have already said I have opposed Alchemy City for the sake of this item. It was originally discovered by me in the ruins, but the Elemental Hand forcefully snatched it away. They have not analyzed its abilities yet.”

Grand Duke Iron Blood glanced at Saleen. Saleen understood. “But we already agreed on only half an hour. If we go and look for this warehouse, there will definitely not be enough...”

“It’s god’s body fragments!” Inbosa could not resist revealing his secret.

“God’s body fragments?” Saleen used magic language to repeat it once. Magic language did not have a variety of descriptive words, so the volume of its vocabulary was frighteningly large. Only mages were willing to learn it, and they still needed to use magic skills in order to completely memorize it. Not many gaps existed magic language.

“Indeed, god’s body fragments.” Inbosa used magic language to repeat Saleen’s words.

“Duke, what do you say?”

Grand Duke Iron Blood’s brows furrowed. If it had been something else, he would be interested. A god’s body fragment was more suited for a mage. Once the item was obtained, he would have to rely on Inbosa. If it had been a ready-made godly item, he would have been interested to consider it further.

“The three of us will split it. Just a fifth will be enough for me!” Inbosa knew that he needed to rely on the Duke and Saleen. If they went to the warehouse, Alchemy City’s magic amplifier would resume its operation. The number of deaths would be very high.

“First settle the matters before us, then we’ll talk about it.” Grand Duke Iron Blood pointed at the True Might who had been caught amongst the Bug Angels. Saleen had identified the True Might’s mount. It was not a living creature at all, but a puppet.

The puppet was not the mechanical product of an alchemist, but refined by a summoner using living creatures.

“Inbosa, that looks like a behemoth.” Saleen reminded Inbosa with good intentions.

“Behemoths do not have such a small build and are all extinct.” As Inbosa spoke, the metal gears beneath his feet revolved and rushed at the True Might.

A mage wanting to engage in close combat was an extremely strange situation. Saleen originally thought that only he was like that. As he saw Inbosa’s strong and brave appearance, he finally understood that he was not out of the ordinary.

Inbosa was the one who was really out of the ordinary. His metal tail swung around. It was even more terrifying than the sky scorpions from legends.

Behemoths were a type of giant land beast who were weaker than giants but about the same as a giant dragon. The behemoth plane had been embroiled in the war of the planes. Although the magic beasts possessed intelligence, they did not have any writing system. In the eyes of humans, they were not intelligent lifeforms.

Dragons, giants, and even demons all had writing systems. Behemoths were a tragic race. Most of their knowledge relied on blood inheritance. The time that mothers had to teach their cubs was extremely short.

Thus, in the history of humans, behemoths were a hunting target because their fur was tougher than any magic armor. The behemoths were able to absorb the power of the earth and had relatively savage personalities.

None of the strongest behemoths had grasped the rules of the plane and found it difficult to jump between planes. It was difficult for them to inflict any harm at all upon humans.

However, since the behemoths’ fur was worth money, that was their original sin.
