Chapter 76: Maro's pack

Eva chimed in, her mind fixed on the loyal white wolf. looking at Maro, she was always reminded of a cute dog in her original world that would always help their owner.

[Perhaps the Maro thought we needed her help and brought these wolves to aid us. We should consider keeping her as a pet. It could be beneficial, and in the future, wolves can become the greatest allies of humanity one day.]

"You mean that process called \'Evolution\' right?" Garnt asked as he was curious about what they were going to experience in the future.

[Well yeah, it is a process that happens over a long time, so you don\'t have to worry. But I can guarantee you, all of the results of it are advantageous to us.]

"I\'m conflicted about it, but this time I will keep her with me, after all, how can I commit the same cruel act twice? It broke my heart to say farewell to her first time," Garnt thought, as he looked at Unami and Kara happily enjoying the softness of Maro\'s fur.

He couldn\'t help but marvel at her. In his eyes, she was the cutest animal in the world, despite her being a dangerous wolf that could easily devour a bear.

Her sleek, silver-grey coat shimmered in the dappled sunlight, and her piercing golden eyes held a certain wild charm that was impossible to resist.

Sure, Maro had a fierce and untamed nature, but to Garnt, she was simply irresistible. He found himself drawn to her every time she playfully pounced on a leaf or let out a low, rumbling growl.

In his heart, she was the embodiment of beauty and strength, a magnificent creature deserving of love and care. And this time, he was determined to keep her by his side, no matter the challenges that lay ahead.

"How did I even let go of this cute creature? I remember how attached Unami and Kara were to Maro." His memories went back to the day, when he decided to let go of Maro. "They looked so depressed after she left, that they even refused to eat."

[Well I have seen this scene countless times in my own world. When humans get attached to an animal, they basically become family members to them, No matter how different the times are some things never change.]

"Garnt, do you know why Maro is different from these other wolves?" Kara suddenly questioned, as she started to notice how Maro looked much more beautiful and majestic compared to other wolves.

"What was it called again? As far as I know, it is a condition called \'Albinism\'. I don\'t know the details, but it has nothing to do with Maro\'s health or her abnormal strength." Garnt answered her question with the information he gathered from Eva.

Kara noticed a peculiar interaction between Eva and her mother while Garnt was talking, but she decided to set her questions aside for the moment. There were more pressing matters at hand.

Finally, Garnt decided to speak about the incident that happened and how he was going to deal with it.

Garnt leaned in, determination in his eyes, "I\'ve made up my mind. I\'m going to wipe out Moga\'s group once and for all. But we can\'t confront them head-on in our current state. I won\'t lose any more of my men."

Ayra and Rona both nodded their head, while Eva added her own thoughts to the context.

[Well that\'s fair. We are not a huge group that can afford the death of people. The most important thing to us is human resources.]

Unami, curious and concerned, inquired, "What\'s your plan then, Garnt?"

Garnt\'s gaze turned resolute, "I\'m going back to that cave. It\'s our best chance. I\'ll set a trap there that will spell Moga\'s immediate demise. He should go there once he recovered to collect the rest of his men and we will quickly assassinate him when he doesn\'t expect it."

Rona and Ayra nodded in agreement with Garnt\'s plan, recognizing the necessity of caution in dealing with Moga\'s group. They could feel the weight of responsibility pressing down on them as well, as they had become an integral part of this small band of villagers.

Kara and Unami both wanted to argue and ask permission from Garnt to participate in this battle, but they knew bothering him might only give him more stress, so they silently allowed their adults to support him.

"Aunt, prepare with your best weapon and lend one of your best spears to Rona. This is going to be a serious battle I will go all out, no holding back.

We will use everything and destroy them." Garnt muttered those words, showing his anger and decided to pet Maro and ask her to stay calm without making a huge scene in the village.

***

Moga sat atop a weathered wooden pole that Baktou had been tied to previously, his fingers gripping the rough surface tightly. The poison that had coursed through his veins still left his hand feeling numb, but an unexpected smile graced his face.

It wasn\'t just a smile of happiness, instead it clearly showed how frustrated and curious Moga was.

One of his men, who had been wounded by Garnt\'s attack, watched Moga with a mix of curiosity and concern. "Moga, you\'re smiling? What\'s going on? We need to kill that man who harmed us."

Moga chuckled softly, his voice strained but determined. "I\'ve seen things. Things that others can only imagine. And I\'ve seen that man\'s face.

No wonder that strong woman is with him after all, I want him even more now. I want his weapons, I want his ideas. I want the liquid that he used to attack me. I need to know how they were going to melt these rocks to make powerful weapons."

Moga paused for a minute, as he looked at the mine and appreciated how well these wooden structures are built. "I want him alive, I want to see the world he is going to build, but he should only build it under my control."

His underlings didn\'t understand why Moga was so obsessed with these people since they didn\'t have enough brains to comprehend how valuable these new inventions were.

Moga would have been an unstoppable force, if he had at least had some intelligent people in his group, but currently, he just had wild men that just wanted to eat and have sex.

Gasps and murmurs filled the mine as the gravity of Moga\'s words sank in. Rona had been their target for so long, but now their attention turned to the enigmatic Garnt.

Moga\'s smile widened as he took a new stone crusher and waved it, a glint of determination shining through his eyes. "We can\'t just capture that man," he continued, his voice dripping with intensity. "We need to make him talk, reveal every single secret he\'s hiding.

I\'ll skin him alive if I have to, but we must know everything he knows."

He thought about how he could accomplish it, knowing that these tough men wouldn\'t reveal anything unless he could push them to the brink of despair. He had learned from the numerous men he had encountered that, instead of becoming his right-hand man, they chose death over supporting him.

Suddenly an idea came to his mind and he grinned. "Yes, that\'s the only way. I will capture his people one by one and cut their limbs if he doesn\'t support me. First his most loved people, then I will kill all the kids and women in his village."

"But Moga, how are we going to do that? They are powerful enough to stop your attacks. And that woman is also in that group now."

"We are not going to attack any sooner. Instead, we\'ll gather more people and create a larger group capable of overwhelming them while eliminating their members."

Moga continued, his voice low and cold, "Ask some of our men to go back to our old caves and bring back our other men and also women. This needs to happen quickly, otherwise, I can easily see that man trying to attack us again.

Also, we will keep attacking the caves to find more people, but this time we won\'t kill."

Moga\'s followers nodded, understanding the gravity of their mission.

With cold determination, they set out to carry out their leader\'s sinister plan, driven by the only thing they understood about this situation, that they were dealing with a ruthless and talented enemy who would stop at nothing to achieve his goals.
